Nigeria takes crucial step towards world cup qualification: defeats Gabon 4:1

Super eagles of Nigeria takes massive step towards world cup qualification by defeating Gabon, led by Pierre Emery Aubameyang.

Super eagles took the lead courtesy of goals from Sevilla duo Akor Adams, Chidi Ejuke and evergreen Victor Osimhen.

Akor Adam took the lead after slotting home from a wayward backpass from a Gabon defender, the lead didn’t take long after a Mario Lemina’s shot which deflected a Nigerian defender wrong footing the Nigerian goalkeeper.

However the goal only proved to be a consolation goal after Nigeria scored 3 times in 30 minutes additional time through, Chidi Ejuke 98 mins, Victor Osimhen 102 mins and 110 mins.

The win takes super eagles a step further in their quest for world cup qualification when they face Dr Congo who defeated Cameroon.

The match takes place on Sunday 16th November at 20.00.
