The federal government of Nigeria as warned against the consumption of pomo, says $5bn leather sector at risk as pomo consumption soars.

Fortunenews reports that several Nigerians are worried by the warning of the government because Pomo is an affordable alternative means of consumption due to its cheaper rate to meat, chicken etc.

A government official who doesn’t want to be named says the federal government could place restrictions on the consumption of hides and skins popularly known as pomo to increase and aid the leather sector’s economy.
